What is comprehension reading

 

Comprehension reading requires the reader to understand a certain part of a passage or a paragraph .The main purpose of comprehension reading is to understand the meaning and try to answer the comprehension questions accordingly

Strategies of comprehension reading is used in international exams that is IELTS TOEFL and so on.

Solving English reading comprehension has become an inevitable part of almost every competitive exam. One question that constantly haunts every  student's  mind is how to improve reading comprehension.

Comprehension is an important aspect of learning. IT

Reading comprehension passages can be time consuming .

If you able to understand the passage well you are able to get most questions correct .

We all are in the habit to to solve simple and direct passages in   school days  but when it comes to competitive exams, task becomes  difficult.

Students fail to understand the language of interest in studying for such answers.

With constant practice and hard work one can easily conquer comprehension questions .

Now the tips

1. Do not memorise:

You do not need to to memorize every word present in the passage. Your priority should be to understand the flow ,structure and the main points in the passage.

For specific point questions you can always re read the passage

2. Do not read the passage first.

Always go through the comprehension questions first and then the passage. This will prepare you to focus on the things you need to look in the passage. Focus only on the questions and not on a particular answer option.

3.Do not overemphasize trivialities

Details are important but don't be obsessed with examples illustrations and so on. You need to get the hang of the main point and  not the examples. Enjoying the overall flow structure will help you analyse and answer the questions.
